TRAINING
PHILOSOPHIES

Pup Club utilizes positive reinforcement training methods. Positive reinforcement uses a rewards-based system of training, highlighting the use of treats, praise, toys, or anything a dog enjoys. This type of training focuses on capturing moments in which a pup performs desirable behaviors by marking and rewarding that behavior.

By positively reinforcing a behavior with a reward, the behavior is likely to occur again. Positive reinforcement is one of the best ways to shape and change a dog’s behavior. The trainer will help pet parents in breaking down behaviors and working on timing so that their pup understands what they did right and makes the connection that performing certain behaviors gets them paid well!

MEET THE
LEAD TRAINER

Daisy is a positive reinforcement and force-free trainer that has been working professionally with animals since 2018 and switched to behavior and training in 2022. Daisy is actively working toward getting her certification in dog training from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.

Daisy graduated from Purdue University with a Master of Science in educational psychology. She spent the last two years learning about behavior and learning theory as it pertains to animal behavior application. While finishing her master’s program, she worked for an animal care facility that offered training, walking, grooming, and pet sitting. She was able to work under several trainers and get hands-on experience understanding behavior and training.

After Daisy moved to the Indianapolis area, she began working at Pup Club and has helped train over 100 puppies. She is constantly learning and developing new skills with each pup she trains and each client interaction she has. She has worked with dogs and clients through private lessons, day training, and group classes. Daisy looks forward to growing this training program and honing her skills in behavior and training with every pup she meets!

WHAT OUR
FURIENDS SAY

We had such a great experience with Pup Club and our puppy, Charlie. She not only was able to learn social skills playing with other puppies but also got a very solid foundation of commands so young.  They do a great job catering to each puppy’s learning style so during group class we know what works best for our puppy vs maybe another puppy! Definitely will do again for our next puppy!!!

Daisy and Eric are wonderful trainers!! My puppy Biscuit just graduated from Puppy 1. He would get so excited to go to Pup Club and will definitely miss his friends! Biscuit had to miss someone days and they made it so easy to make them up and really worked with us! Also they were so very helpful with any questions and how to help us work on particular behaviors our pup was doing! I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

We had a great experience with both Derra and Daisy at Pup Club. Our puppy, Violet, was given a great foundation of basic commands and behaviors. We would go home each week with commands to reinforce and practice, but Derra and Daisy did the heavy lifting in the weekly sessions. It's truly amazing what they can teach these puppies in such a short amount of time! If they ever offer intermediate or advanced classes we would be quick to join them!

Derra and Daisy were wonderful trainers and I know they loved our puppy almost as much as we do! They are eternally patient with both the dogs and the humans. I love the Sunday sessions when they train us in what our pup learned during the week. I highly recommend Pup Club!

We have had many dogs in the past, but we have never had a puppy. We decided to start off on the right foot and put our puppy in the Pup Club training classes. Our puppy now knows all basic commands and we were taught what to work on with him. Derra was a great communicator and gave individual attention to each dog. Very happy with the training and results!

If you are looking at a place to send your puppy for training, look no further. Our puppy, Sandy, would sprint for the door in order to get to Pup Club as quickly as possible. Sandy received the best training I could have ever imagined. She learned a large amount of skills over the six-weeks that she attended classes. It was always a fun time attending classes on Sunday in order to practice the skills that she had been working on that week. We will forever be grateful for Pup Club!

ASKED OFTEN

What services does Cub Canine offer?

We provide Doggie Daycare (Including young puppies), Boarding (Club Canine only boards dogs that regularly attend Daycare), Dog Grooming, & Puppy Training.

What is your puppy training program like?

Pup Club has pawsome puppy training programs. One of the things that sets Pup Club above other training facilities is the opportunity for socialization. In addition to individual and small group training, puppies have free play together under the supervision of trainers. Don’t tell the puppies, they are in training during what they think is playtime. The trainers work with them on how to play with their furiends, mouthing, bite inhibition, enrichment, and much more!

How does your daycare service work?

Dogs spend their entire time playing together in our large indoor and outdoor play areas, so they can roam as they please. In inclement weather such as lighting, the garage doors are closed. Club Canine does not crate dogs during the day. Sometimes a dog needs a short break away
from their furiends which may be in a kennel. There are various pieces of play equipment for the dogs to play on and chase each other around. In the summer, dogs can play in the pools.

What measures do you take to keep dogs safe?

- Staff are trained in dog body language
- Staff are engaged and active in the play areas
- All staff are trained by a veterinarian in dog CPR and First Aide
- Dog Trainers go into the play areas and work with staff

What is your boarding facility like?

We have 4' X 6' Kennels & 8' X 6' Kennels, Areas for siblings, Crates, Free Nyla bones, Access to water, & Lots of TLC!

What is your policy on aggressive dogs?

All dogs have a temperament test during a Meet and Greet prior to participation in Daycare. During the Meet and Greet if the dog shows any signs of aggression, they will not be accepted for Daycare. Should an incident of aggression occur during Daycare, the dog will be dismissed.

What grooming services do you offer?

At Club Canine we offer a wide variety of grooming services. We carry shampoo lines for all hair types, so your dog is sure to get the best formula catered to their skin. From funky hair colors to painted nails, we can add all kinds of fun flare to your pet’s look!
